True Love… the coldest day, the most in love couple, a bus and a guitar!!! We got to spend the morning with Christine & Frans downtown Johannesburg for their engagement shoot. It was so cold that I could barely feel my toes, needless to say, the shutter of my camera went … click… cluck as it was telling me this is freezing cold! These two, totally in Love shared small kisses, intimate moments that truly reflect their “in Love story…”
“We are all formed through love- love from our parents, family friends- all the ones that are and were closest to our hearts. Only the lucky ones have found true love in our lives. I gave up on love and imagined it somewhere in the distance- when I moved to Johannesburg, have a great job… but I had given my love story to the Lord!
Frans and I met through a series of youth band occasions and there was an immediate physical attraction. He gathered the guts to ask me out for coffee and after several weeks of rescheduling I agreed. All went well until he started interrupting me in what felt like every sentence. I though “what a rude arrogant man” and naturally turned the requests down for the second date. As I joined the band, Me and Frans were the only singles in the group and decided to team up to host the band – just for convenience sake! It was only then that I realized that the only reason he interrupted me so much was because he was SO exited to be there with me and his over enthusiasm took hold of him. He was the most charming gentleman with style and a massive heart! After we became friends this September it would be a year ago that we decided to give love another shot… and this time the shot at love hit the bulls eye!
On Valentines Day this year he invited me to join him at his place- our first V-day together! I was expecting a dinner- the whole works- but as I arrived there the blinds were closed, NO dinner, NO set table, tv on his favorite sport channel and him saying – “do you want something to drink? I though we could just chill tonight.” My expectations were crushed in the ground and went to the bathroom to gathered my smile back to enjoy a CHILLED night home- but as I went back to the living room- he opened the blinds…
There it was – his back yard with a view over the small town filled with candles, a blanket and pillows on the grass, radio playing soft romantic music, ‘n basket filled with all kinds of treats and snacks I love. I was without any words… we spend the evening dining on the lawn, laughing over how we met, sharing our dreams, memories and love. I was in heaven and didn’t think the night could get any better when he said he prepared a little show for me and took out his guitar. He sung love songs, funny songs… a great all rounder… when he stopped gave me a soft kiss and said, “this one is just for you”. The words I cannot translate in English- it would not give it justice!
He asked me in the song if I would be his forever, be his in the middle of the night and then he held out the ring and asked me to marry him!
Love is a strange thing and your best love story can only be written in the hands of God!”
We can’t wait to share your wedding day later this year with you guys!
