Young and in Love… the sound of music, the style of love is what made this engagement shoot of Ricus and Nicole on to remember forever. With the start of spring, there was no better way than to do a styled engagement musical themed shoot, with loads of flowers, soft pastel colors and a stunning in Love couple and beautiful light!!! The perfect combination!
Here is their “In Love Story” of how Ric proposed:
“…The 1 March 2014, happened to be our 1 and a half year anniversary. Ric told me a week before the time that we would be going for breakfast on the morning, which the night before he mentioned we should go early, as in 7 am.. I am not a morning person, but I agreed on the time, he also added that we would be going Wimpy… I didn’t want to spoil his idea, so I agreed to it (half disappointed that he was keen for Wimpy but knew I would enjoy spending time with him anyway.)
He came to pick me up and also said I should bring along our 2 mugs that I bought for us for Valentines Day and a pillow… Not even thinking, I grabbed these and ran to the car… We started driving up Hendrik Potgieter, and I started wondering where a Wimpy in this area could be… Ric then told me he was taking me on a picnic, yippee (I was so happy to not be going to Wimpy on our Anniversary, heehee) Once we arrived we carried a huge heavy basket, blankets and pillow for what seemed to be a million miles, and stopped in a nice quiet spot near the waterfalls…
He said “Open the basket” all excited.. and for a moment I thought “Oh my word… is this it?”
I open the basket and looked everywhere, but no box … (Now I don’t want to act disappointed) so I take everything out that he had prepared for us and made a big fuss of the delish food he had prepared. Flap jacks, grated cheese, raspberries, syrup, coffee, and scrambled eggs… Oh my goodness, it was so amazing… Once we were done eating, we relaxed for a while, but I noticed Ric was a bit jiggly, he just wouldn’t sit still, I was puzzled and asked “are you bored?” he laughed and told me he felt like we should go for a walk… But, it slowly started drizzling so he said “Let’s pack up” We packed up our things and suddenly I notice Ric get all strange and nervous, I’m telling you I could hear his heart pounding through his chest, I asked him what’s going on…
Suddenly he drops to one knee, there I am standing in complete shock, half crying, half laughing whilst he says all these amazing words… as asks me to be his wife. I couldn’t say yes quick enough and just jumped into his arms still hysterical with joy and tears.
Ric and I have walked a wonderful journey thus far and I couldn’t be happier to spend the rest of my life with the man who brings out the absolute best in me.
I am so blessed to have met him and look forward to our many years ahead…”
